If you are unemployed or at risk of becoming unemployed, labour market measures help you to become quickly reintegrated into employment on a permanent basis. These measures can help you:
- broaden your specialist knowledge
- learn new techniques and methods
- expand your professional network and make new contacts
You can find a wide range of labour market measures in the list of measures.
There is also a new programme for job seekers over 50.
Participation in labour market measures
If you are entitled to unemployment benefit, in principle you also fulfil the requirements for participating in labour market measures.
If you are not yet entitled to unemployment benefit (for example you are only at risk of becoming unemployed), you may still get funding to participate in a course under certain conditions. Ask the regional employment centre (RAV) for more information.
How to register for a labour market measure
The RAV usually decides whether a particular measure is appropriate and sensible. However, insured people can apply on their own initiative to their RAV to participate in a measure at any time.
Refer to our brochure (PDF, 187 kB, 01.07.2021) for information on labour market measures or get in touch with your regional RAV.
