Legal information

Operator and purpose

The operator of the website www.work.swiss is the Labour Market/Unemployment Insurance Division of the Labour Directorate of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The intent and purpose of www.work.swiss is to provide visitors with up-to-date information quickly.

The site contains comprehensive information about the first steps to take when affected by imminent unemployment or on becoming unemployed; financial contributions and support; advice and mediation; legislation; and brochures for the unemployed and employers alike. Job-seekers can visit the job room to access a database of job vacancies, searches through which are supplemented by the integrated job search engine.

Employers can find out about everything from opportunities for offering internships to financial support from unemployment insurance. The site also acts as a platform for posting job vacancies and seeking candidates who are registered at a regional employment centre (RAV).

The website also provides extensive information about work, labour market statistics and the addresses of RAVs and unemployment insurance funds. This legal information pertains exclusively to the content accessible at www.work.swiss.

The content of this website cannot cover every detail of the Federal Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA) and Unemployment Insurance Ordinance (UIO). The text of the legislation and the ordinance has exclusive authority in the event of doubt or contradictions and for settling legal matters.
